INCOMPLETE - EXHIBITION PARTICIPANTS

Nour Shamma

In my constant search for purity, I usually find it when I recall the practices I used to share with my father, who passed away early, when I used to watch his hands as he formed jewelry out of silver, or when we sat on the banks of the canal in front of our house, or when we fed the cats and weeded the garden, where nature was our refuge.

In this project, I return to the photo archive left behind by my father, to evoke those memories, which by reviving them I become closer, to rediscover myself and my constant attempts to catch up with those loose moments, through paintings in which I rely on the flow and movement of water to return to nature, and to him.
